Watch the colors pop! Mesquite segmented top. Soapstone body. Segmented maple and walnut bottom ring on raspberry alabaster.
This is why I prefer to turn stone over wood now. The color popping is far superior to a wood equivalent.
Custom bees wax/oil finish. The piece now needs to be buffed.
Work in progress. Vessel to store my wife's lavender. Still need to turn the cap. Segmented soap stone and alabaster. Wait till you see the colors pop!
Utah Translucent Fire Red Alabaster: around 1,000 pounds. The rarest of the rare and found only in one spot in the world.
My biggest score!!
